Lahore, Pakistan — In a strategic discussion aimed at accelerating Pakistan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, Dr. Fauzia Khan, Founder of the Artificial Intelligence Education Forum (AIEF), and Dr. Summaira Sarfraz, Director Lahore Campus at FAST National University, aligned on organizing a Pre-AIEF Academic Conference ahead of the 4th AIEF International AI Championship.
The proposed conference will serve as a national academic platform, bringing together research scholars, MS and PhD candidates, and final-year project (FYP) students from leading universities starting with coordinated participation from the League of Lahore Universities.
As a pioneer member of the League of Lahore Universities, Dr. Summaira proposed active collaboration to jointly organize AIEF’s first-ever academic conference, enabling students to:
- Showcase research papers and AI-driven projects
- Deliver live presentations and demos
- Present innovative ideas across applied AI, research, and emerging technologies

The initiative is designed to spotlight high-impact research and practical AI solutions, with the top-performing projects shortlisted directly for the 4th AIEF International AI Championship, providing participants a pathway from academia to national and international recognition.
“Pakistan has no shortage of talent—what we need is the right bridge between ideas and opportunity,” said Dr. Fauzia Khan, Co-founder and CEO of AIEF. “This collaboration is about identifying brilliant minds early and giving them a platform to take their work to the next level.”
The conference will prioritize research-driven innovation, encouraging scholars to move beyond theory and demonstrate real-world AI applications. By engaging universities at a league level, AIEF aims to create a sustainable academic-to-industry pipeline for AI talent across Pakistan.
This pre-conference marks a significant step in AIEF’s broader mission: to fuel explosive growth in artificial intelligence by empowering human potential, fostering collaboration, and positioning Pakistan as a serious contributor to the global AI landscape.
